Motive is one of the biggest problems that Christians do not understand. God cares less for the actual actions than he does for the motives behind the action. Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying you can do something wrong and it will be excused as long as your motives are good; However, Christ looks at the heart.

Jesus talked to the pharisees many times. In his discussion with the Pharisees he made very harsh statements. One time he said, “You are like whitewashed tomb, beautiful on the outside but full of dead men’s bones.” He meant, what you do and how you act look great, but you are corrupt inside your heart. Their motives for doing good things was wrong. If we are not careful we can to the same thing. We can allow ourselves to begin working for the Glory that we will get in return for the work we do. And Christ said that people who act like that will receive their reward by being honored by men, but will not recieve a reward from God.

What is your motive?
