1 Peter 5:7
cast all your cares on the Lord for he cares for you.
Simon Peter is attributed for writing these words of hope and inspiration. There was a very interesting change in his life that led him to make this statement. If you remember in the Gospels, Jesus and his disciples were on a boat and a storm came up. Jesus was sleeping in the belly of the ship. He was not awakened by this storm.
The disciples woke him, and Simon said, “Lord do you not care if we perish.” What a paradox in his life. He began his ministry with “Lord, do you not care if we perish.” But at the end of his life he wrote, “Cast all of your cares on the Lord for he cares for you.”
Have you ever had a time like that? Maybe you thought God had abandoned you? Did he prove his faithfulness to you?
