Rejoice at all times, again I say rejoice

Philipians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, Rejoice!

How many times have your gone through things that make you want to throw in the towel? We all go through such things and it is very easy for us to get discouraged. Discouragement is all around. From the bills that keep piling up when the pay check keeps getting smaller, to the family members who are always fighting with each other. There are so many things that can cause us to be discouraged.

Stress, sheer exhaustion, and frustration tear us down, not only emotionally and physically, but spiritually also. In this verse Paul says something profound. His statement is very simple and to the point

Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, Rejoice!

Paul had it hard. He used to persecute the Christians, but after his conversion he was the one being persecuted by his own brethren. He also had been beaten, abused, hated, chastised, imprisoned, stoned, shipwrecked, the list goes on and on. But he said, “In all things, rejoice.”

Even in the midst of your problems, rejoice in the Lord. When you do not feel like rejoicing, rejoice in the Lord. It is in those times that you will really find God.

Have you ever had a time when you felt like you did not have it in you to worship any more?
